 Hi, I found an old bookmark in an old word and has tried to polish what common characteristics. I found two quarters as the spindle and the lion then I know it is sterling silver and Birmingham.

 Gorham features, including "JE Caldwell & Co. (Retailer); lion foot mark set in Old English" G "," STERLING "and the serial number
