english hallmarks on gold jewelry from the 1920s?

 I bought a gold ring 10ct said I was English punches about this but I am unable to see the spot, so I have no way of knowing where it came from.

 present it to a profesional. I had a question like that today too, but PPL said it is impenetrable to say the image oa w /. Just pass a local JEWL:)
Also, is 10kt gold plated, so it can be advantageous too.

Can anyone help identify an old 18k gold hallmark if I provide a photo? Jeweler has said it is not English.?

 It looks like an pin (hand-drawn) or peradventure a boat. With a letter on each side at the top - I see this is for the year and maker. Please helper! Thanks!
